From the tapas menu
Galician-style octopus in central Barcelona
A full plate of pulpo a la gallega on boiled potato, finished with paprika and olive oil, at Bar APZ: Carrer d'Estruc 32, a quiet street just behind Plaça de Catalunya.

How it's served
Galician-style octopus portion
The octopus arrives sliced over boiled potato, dusted with paprika and given a generous drizzle of olive oil, on a wooden board. It's a full portion, the kind you put in the middle of the table. It goes well with pimientos de padrón or pan con tomate, both on the tapas menu.

The octopus sits on the menu alongside garlic prawns, baby squid, fried calamari and mussels marinera. At lunchtime there's also a set menu of home-cooked dishes that change regularly.
The other tapa plenty of people come in for. Jonathan Díaz makes it every day, and you can also order it in a sandwich.
A family bar on Carrer d'Estruc, open from breakfast through to dinner. José started here as a waiter in 1988 and now runs the bar.
